The trail begins at the Queñe Volcano Lookout offering spectacular panoramic views of the entire Riñinahue Valley. Then you enter the native forest, and as you climb the mountain range, you will begin to marvel at the most impressive landscape in the park. The great milestone in the excursion is to reach the “Shark’s Fin,” a colossal rock that rises high over the mountain and offers a 360º view of all of Ranco Lake and the Caulle Range. The trail can be followed as far as the secluded Polloihue Lagoon, the remains of a glacier dramatically embedded in steep mountains at an altitude of 900 meters.

Cerro Polloihue is a hidden gem in southern Chile, offering visitors a unique blend of adventure and untouched natural beauty. One of its main advantages is its peaceful environment, far from mass tourism, allowing travelers to enjoy a more authentic and intimate experience with nature.

What makes Cerro Polloihue special is its rich ecosystem and stunning scenery. The area is surrounded by dense native forests, diverse wildlife, and impressive views of nearby volcanoes and mountains. It is an excellent destination for hiking, birdwatching, and photography, especially for those who appreciate less crowded trails.

Cerro Polloihue is increasingly visited because it combines accessibility with a sense of exploration.

Overall, Cerro Polloihue stands out for its tranquility, biodiversity, and the opportunity it offers to experience the wild landscapes of southern Chile in a more personal way.
